Saltwater Creek Upgrade

The Bruce Highway – Saltwater Creek Bridge Upgrade Project is located on the Bruce Highway between Maryborough and Aldershot. The upgrade of this bridge was identified as a priority in the 2012 Bruce Highway Action Plan (BHAP).

Civil Project Partners was engaged by Georgiou to complete tender cost estimating for an upgrade on the Saltwater Creek bridge on the Bruce Highway (Maryborough to Gin Gin).

Scope

The replacement of the Saltwater Creek bridge was identified as a high priority for flood immunity and safety reasons, whilst previously proposed pavement rehabilitation works on other sections of the existing highway were identified as lower priority works. This section of the National Highway has a flood immunity of less than 10 % AEP and experiences regular flood related closures and delays.

The original project scope included:

  • Replacing the Saltwater Creek bridge
  • Replacing four floodways
  • Replacement of Deadman’s Gully bridge and approaches
  • 8km of pavement strengthening
  • 4km of realigned highway.

CPP was engaged by Georgiou to complete tender cost estimating for the Saltwater Creek bridge upgrade on the Bruce Highway.
