Bruce Highway – Cooroy to Curra Section D1 to D2

Currently under construction the ~$700 million Section D: Woondum to Curra project is a new 26km, 4-lane divided highway between the existing Bruce Highway interchange at Woondum, south of Gympie and Curra.

The project is being delivered in two construction contracts, with work underway since October 2020.

Scope

The highway upgrade will improve road safety, capacity and travel times, avoiding 53 sections and removing traffic from localities such as Gympie and Tiaro.

Major works include:
• 26km of 4 lane divided highway
• 43 bridge structures
• 6 million cubic metres of earth moving
• 45 intersections bypassed
• 106 property access points bypassed

Service Provided

Civil Project Partners was engaged to perform tender programming and cost estimation functions for the construction tender of an upgrade to the Bruce Highway from Cooroy to Curra.
