Beaudesert Road and Illaweena Street Intersection Upgrade
Beaudesert Road forms a vital north-south link between the Brisbane Urban Corridor and the Logan Motorway. It provides access to major freight generating land uses such as the Acacia Ridge western industrial area, Westridge Industrial Park and the Acacia Ridge intermodal terminal. Mount Lindesay Arterial Road is a four-lane divided urban road approximately 12 km long, with some sections of six land divided carriageways. It extends Beaudesert Road from the north and Mount Lindesay Highway from the south.
Civil Project Partners has been commissioned by GHD to complete a Preliminary Design and Detailed Design cost estimate report for the Beaudesert Road and Illaweena Street Intersection Upgrade.

Scope
The Arterial Road may be considered to have two distinctive sides and functions. To the north of Compton Road, the road may serve freight and general traffic. The objectives of the intersection upgrade contract are:
- Refine the concept design from the Business Case to a detailed design package ready for construction
- Possibly extend the concept design footprint to further north of Beaudesert Road towards Honeysuckle Way to achieve the project outturn cost P90 figure to be less than $30 million
Final project scope includes:
- Widening Beaudesert Road to 6 through lanes (3 in each direction)
- Extending the right-turn lanes into Algester Road and Illaweena Street.
- Replacing the left-turn slip lanes into Algester Road and Illaweena Street with signalised left-turn lanes.
- Upgrading bus stops before and after the intersection.
- Constructing a shared pedestrian and bicycle riding path adjacent to the Beaudesert Road northbound lanes by using the existing service road.
- Constructing a protected intersection with separated bicycle riding lanes and other safety features to protect all road users.

Service Provided
Civil Project Partners has been engaged by GHD to perform cost estimating in line with the quote supplied by Civil Project Partners to GHD. The scope of services has been developed to align with the project owner’s specifications for the services and include the following tasks and deliverables.
- Provide construction program in P6
- Cost estimate services in Expert Estimation 2014
- Amend risk context profiles (RCP) and the Risk Register if required
- Risk analysis utilising Monte Carlo Simulation using @Risk modelling
- Provide a Preliminary Design and a Detailed Design cost estimate report detailing the P50/ P90 values
