At Civil Project Partners, our work is ultimately defined by the people behind it. While projects, programs, and milestones shape what we deliver, it is the capability, commitment, and collaboration of our team that determine how we deliver it. As 2025 draws to a close, we caught up with the team to reflect on their year, the moments they are most proud of, the projects that stood out, and what the year meant to them personally and professionally.
Sam: Growing capability through meaningful contribution
For Sam, 2025 was a year of growth underpinned by hands-on involvement in one of South East Queensland’s most important reconstruction programs. Supporting the DRFA 24F – 2024 Reconstruction SEQ project, Sam played a key role in reviewing documentation, preparing Bluebeam mark-ups, checking quantities and ensuring compliance with Transport and Main Roads and local council requirements.
Being entrusted with responsibility on a major recovery program was a defining moment. It strengthened technical capabilities in QA and QC processes, procurement support, and quantity validation, and reinforced the importance of attention to detail, coordination, and accountability when working on projects that directly benefit local communities. For Sam, the year can be summed up in one word: growth.
Justin: Collaboration and success
For Justin, the Captain Cook Highway project stood out as the highlight for 2025 due to the scale and complexity of the submission process. Delivering several submissions throughout the year required months of detailed technical input, coordination and review across multiple teams, stakeholders and partners.
Contributing to this sustained effort over an extended period was both challenging and rewarding, as all parties worked together to deliver high-quality outcomes for a vital infrastructure project.
Justin also supported a key client’s work to secure a successful tender outcome for the Beams Road Upgrade in Brisbane’s North, which will reduce congestion, improve safety and provide better active transport options and connections.
Throughout the year, it was clear that for any project, teamwork and collaboration are central to achieving positive outcomes.
Reflecting on a very successful year, Justin describes it in one word: multi-faceted.
Andres: Precision where it matters most
For Andres, the standout achievement of 2025 was leading estimating and cost planning activities for the Queensland Rail Bridge Replacement Project. Operating within a highly complex environment that included live rail interfaces and significant risk sensitivity, accuracy and judgement were critical.
A key success was refining estimating approaches to better capture construction risks, staging requirements and market conditions. This delivered clearer cost visibility and increased the client’s confidence at key decision points. Collaborative problem-solving across engineering and estimating disciplines ensured that cost and risk challenges were addressed within tight timeframes. For Andres, the defining word for the year was precision.
Ryan: Innovation in challenging conditions
For Ryan, 2025 was marked by the delivery of complex outcomes across both the DRFA program and the Captain Cook Highway Project, alongside a strong focus on innovation in construction methodology. One of the most impactful breakthroughs was the development and application of hand-drilling techniques for steep, constrained cliff-face environments.
These innovations improved safety, constructability, and efficiency in high-risk conditions, reducing delivery risk and providing practical, cost-effective solutions for clients. Moments where the team came together to overcome difficult site constraints highlighted the strength of Civil Project Partners’ problem-solving culture. Ryan sums up the year in one word: innovation.
Sean: Commitment and continuity
For Sean, 2025 marked a personal milestone: his six-year anniversary with Civil Project Partners. Coinciding with Justin Stratford’s second work anniversary, the moment carried broader significance.
In a highly competitive labour market, these milestones reflect Civil Project Partners’ position as an employer of choice and the value placed on long-term relationships, shared growth and team continuity.
Looking Ahead
While each reflection tells a different story, clear themes emerge. Growth, leadership, precision, innovation, and commitment underpin how Civil Project Partners approaches its work across reconstruction programs, highways, rail infrastructure and complex site conditions. The year highlighted the importance of collaboration, technical excellence and people who care deeply about the outcomes they deliver.
As the business looks ahead, these shared values will continue to shape how Civil Project Partners supports its clients, communities and people, delivering resilient infrastructure with confidence, clarity and purpose.
