Civil Project Partners Welcomes New Team Members

Civil Project Partners are delighted to welcome two new team members, Katie Sommerfeld and Balazs Varga, joining the organisation on the back of continued growth and recent project wins.

Katie joined in 2020 as a Senior Civil Estimator and Planner having helped to deliver major projects in Australia and Fiji for The Department of Transport and Main Roads, Fiji Roads Authority and Fluor across the road and resources sectors. Projects have included the Old North Road, Samsonvale Road, Youngs Crossing Road intersection upgrade and Roads Servicing Fairview Gasfields project.

On joining Civil Project Partners, Katie paid tribute to the company’s approach and culture “It is great to be part of a progressive company with great focus and a commitment to flexible and remote working, which as a new Mum is fantastic.”

“I’m also impressed by the team’s systems, technology and processes and am excited to work back in the roads and bridges space using Primavera P6 and Expert Estimation across a range of interesting projects.”

Balazs joins from Sydney, where he has spent the last five years working on major projects including Sydney Metro and the Mulgoa Rd Upgrade in Penrith. Prior to that, he worked on the Gold Coast supporting the Hinze Dam and Gold Coast Light Rail projects.

“I am delighted to join Civil Projects Partners and to have relocated back to South-East Queensland after five years in Sydney. Civil Project Partners are a growing organisation with an impressive reputation and track record, and I’m pleased to be making a move back to Queensland to join a successful business,” said Balazs.

Civil Project Partners Ryan O’Neill welcomed Katie and Balazs to the team “On behalf of everyone at Civil Project Partners we are delighted to welcome Katie and Balazs to the team and look forward to using their considerable skills and expertise across our clients’ key projects.”

“Over the last six months, we have been fortunate to have grown our organisation and our team on the back of securing major projects in the infrastructure sector. We look forward to continuing our growth on the back of the results we deliver for our clients in the public and private sectors,” said Ryan.
